Ancient Anatolia : Fifty Years' Work by the British Institute of Archaeology at Ankara
There are few countries in the world with an archaeological and historical heritage as rich and varied as that of Turkey, ancient Anatolia. Since 1948 the British Archaeology at Ankara has been engaged in the discovery and exploration of the past of Anatolia. British archaeologists have conducted research on archaeological remains ranging in date from the earliest hominid presence in the Palaeolithic period right through to recent historical times, with emphasis on the Neolithic, Bronze Age, Roman and Byzantine periods. In this illustrated volume, some 30 essays by the archaeologists themselves present wide-ranging discoveries in an accessible and attractive manner.
