Ricardo Bofill : A Tailor-Made World
With its first book, Apartamento magazine tells the extraordinary story of the residence and studio of renowned Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill. His ambitious project began in the early 1970s when he bought an old cement factory on the outskirts of Barcelona. Over the 40 years that have followed he has made the structure, which he christened La Fábrica, his own, converting its cylindrical silos and industrial architecture into a spectacular space of light, cement, and almost jungle-like greenery. This is a one-of-a-kind look at what can happen when a unique creative mind lets loose upon an unorthodox space, as edited and designed by the staff of one of today's most internationally-beloved and dynamic shelter magazines.
